CeeDee Lamb Returns to Cowboys with a Lucrative Contract Extension
CeeDee Lamb has officially rejoined the Dallas Cowboys, signing a monumental four-year, $136-million contract extension that cements his status as one of the highest-paid players in the NFL. This extension, which includes a $34 million average per year salary, $100 million in guaranteed money, and a $38 million signing bonus, makes Lamb the second-highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, tying him with Nick Bosa and just behind Justin Jefferson's $35 million average per year.

"We just heard a bunch of cheering, and we turn around, and he's walking through things like 'It's great to be back,'" Tolbert recounted. For Lamb, the process of negotiating his contract was a rollercoaster. "I had no doubt. But I will say I was getting impatient," he admitted. The moment he learned the deal was finalized was surreal. "My agent FaceTimed me. It was actually kind of crazy. He hit me with a 'Yeah, man, this is going south.' Well, where do I sign?"
Now back with the team, Lamb is entirely focused on the field. Despite the contract negotiations, Lamb maintained a regular practice schedule, even working out with quarterback Dak Prescott at Prescott's backyard field. "We got our reps in for sure. The best thing about it, him having a field in his backyard. So anytime I came back home [from training in Florida], it was time [to throw with Prescott]," Lamb shared.
Head coach Mike McCarthy emphasized that Lamb's role in the Cowboys' offense will remain unchanged. "CeeDee's role will not change. He was our premier receiver last year. Our approach with him will be similar. I don't see that changing," McCarthy stated. This continuity is expected to benefit both Lamb and the team as they strive for success in the upcoming season.
Lamb himself is ready to take on the challenge. "I've got some body armor on me. I can take a couple more hits. I'm prepared for my opportunities," Lamb declared. His physical preparation, combined with his strong connection with Prescott, sets the stage for what could be a standout season.

He's been vocal about the importance of securing a contract extension for Dak Prescott as well. "You look at our numbers together, they're at the top of the charts. I have no doubt that they're going to get a deal done. We all know that I want Dak here. Jerry wants Dak here, too, so let's just get this under control and kill the speculation and let's go win," Lamb emphasized.
As Lamb returns to the Cowboys, the team and fans alike can breathe a sigh of relief. The anxiety that permeated the organization during his holdout has turned into optimism. Lamb made sure to clear the air with the Cowboys' management. "We had a businessman conversation. Just had to clear the room. Everything is behind us. I'm not worried about nothing. We got what we needed to get done. Now it's time for me to go ball," Lamb stated confidently.
