We're both getting each other better... Going up against him, even losing, helps me out."
This strong showing builds on Dak Prescott’s continued admiration for Guyton’s abilities. "The dude jumped up there and spelled it as fast without any hesitation as I have ever seen. Still mind blown to be honest with you," Prescott remarked, highlighting the rookie’s sharpness and quick thinking.

The transition to the pros is rarely smooth, but Guyton has had invaluable support from his teammates. Notably, left guard Tyler Smith has taken on a mentorship role, aiding Guyton’s development. "He's helped me out a lot. He's like a big brother to me," Guyton shared, expressing gratitude for the guidance he's received from Smith.
Smith, who also hails from Texas, speaks highly of the rookie's potential, praising his physical attributes and mindset. "It's not very often that you find a human being who measures how he does, 6-7, 330, and has light feet and can just move and just bully dudes," Smith explained. "The sky truly is the limit for him and his development."
Team Spirit and Overcoming Adversity
Guyton’s off-field activities further showcase his commitment to the team. Participating in events like team jeopardy night and a rookie karaoke session—where he performed "Mary Jane" by Rick James—has endeared him to the locker room crowd. "It's a song that everybody knows is groovy and that would work," explained Guyton, demonstrating his willingness to engage and connect with his teammates.
Recently, Guyton faced an illness that sidelined him for three practices. Nevertheless, he remained steadfast in his recovery, returning to practice in a limited capacity. "I'm feeling better, for sure. I'm just under the weather, working my way back now," he confirmed, showing resilience and dedication to his role.
Looking Forward
As Guyton continues to make strides in his rookie season, expectations run high. He follows in the footsteps of Tyron Smith, but as Dak Prescott wisely noted, “He has to be Tyler Guyton. Doesn’t really matter who played here before him... At the end of the day, you just need to be yourself and the best version of yourself.”
The Cowboys will soon have a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams, presenting yet another opportunity for Guyton to solidify his spot and make a lasting impact.
