Jon Rahm Triumphs in LIV Golf with First Individual Title
Jon Rahm has clinched his first individual title in LIV Golf, securing a one-stroke victory with an impressive final score of 13 under. The achievement, marked by rounds of 63, 70, and 67, saw Rahm fend off fierce competition from Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann, and Cameron Smith.
The final day was a testament to Rahm’s unyielding focus and resilience. He started by scoring 2 under on the front nine and then expertly made three birdies across the first four holes of the back nine. However, a three-putt bogey on the par-3 17th hole added suspense to the closing moments. Despite this setback, Rahm managed to maintain his composure and finish strong.
Competing under high pressure, Tyrrell Hatton had an opportunity to force a playoff with a 6-foot putt on the 18th green, but it narrowly missed, securing Rahm's win. Reflecting on his victory, an emotional Rahm indicated the significance of this win for his family. “It's just emotional, you know, it hasn't been the easiest for our family. Kelly and I have gone through quite a bit … and to get this one done — she did tell me our son Kepa said to bring a trophy from this stretch of golf. I started to believe it was going to happen at one point today, maybe not in the last 20 minutes, but at least I can look in the camera and say I am bringing one home for them,” Rahm shared.
Rahm's consistent performance has been remarkable, as he has now accumulated nine straight top-10 finishes to start his LIV Golf career. This consistency has helped solidify his status as a premier player in the sport. Overcoming recent challenges, including missing the cut at the PGA Championship and withdrawing before the U.S. Open in 2024, Rahm's triumph in this event is particularly gratifying. “Finally get one done. You never want to get those feelings to go on for too long and to get over that hump feels quite incredible. It's been a fantastic week and a fantastic year and (I'm) just relieved that it happened,” Rahm remarked.
Team Dynamics and Future Aspirations
The team competition added another layer of excitement, with Legion XIII emerging victorious by three strokes over Ripper GC. Key contributors like Caleb Surratt and Kieran Vincent played pivotal roles in Legion XIII's success. Rahm's triumph in the individual competition underscores his crucial contribution to his team's overall performance.
Looking toward the future, Rahm aims to represent Spain in the Olympics at Le Golf National, where he hopes to compete alongside David Puig. His recent performance has undoubtedly fueled his confidence for upcoming international events. “I think that walk down 18 or down the back nine would have been a little bit harder had I not gotten a win, but getting over the hump and getting it done I think is going to give me a little extra confidence if I put myself in a good position on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to sharing the week with David. It's going to be fantastic, and hopefully, one of us can leave with the gold,” Rahm said.

Jon Rahm's journey in LIV Golf continues to capture the attention of golf enthusiasts around the world.
