The New Jersey Devils have officially solidified their coaching roster, marking a significant step towards refining their strategic direction for the upcoming season.
Three weeks after hiring head coach Sheldon Keefe, the Devils have announced the addition of Jeremy Colliton to their coaching staff. This new inclusion aims to bolster the team's performance and achieve positive results in the next NHL season.
Tom Fitzgerald, the president and general manager of the New Jersey Devils, confirmed the news on Tuesday. Keefe, who left the Toronto Maple Leafs to join the Devils, has retained most of the interim coaching staff, ensuring a blend of stability and new strategies.

His leadership skills were previously demonstrated during his tenure with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he served as head coach for parts of four seasons and became the NHL’s youngest head coach at the age of 33.
At the Blackhawks, Colliton achieved a record of 87-92-26. Additionally, he has experience coaching the team’s AHL affiliate in Rockford and possesses international coaching credentials from his time in Sweden's second league from 2013 to 2017.
Colliton also played a significant role in international competitions, having been the head coach for Team Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics. He stepped in for Claude Julien due to injury, although the team did not secure a medal.
Playing Background
Before transitioning to coaching, Colliton had a career as a professional ice hockey player. He was drafted in the second round of the 2003 NHL Draft by the New York Islanders, playing as a center. Over six seasons within the Islanders' organization, he participated in 57 NHL games, earning three goals and three assists.
Colliton's dual experience as both a player and a coach makes him a valuable addition to the Devils' coaching staff. His deep understanding of the game and his ability to develop talent are assets the Devils hope to capitalize on.
